Bushmans Tanks & Think Water Cairns: Partnering for Change in Papua New Guinea

This year, Bushmans Tanks proudly partnered with Think Water Cairns and EYOS Expeditions to contribute to an extraordinary mission of sustainability and community support in Papua New Guinea.

During a voyage aboard the luxury residential mega yacht MV The World, an opportunity arose to engage with the vibrant communities of Iwa Island in the Solomon Sea and Nulia on Panapompom Island in the Deboyne Lagoon. With an emphasis on purpose-driven exploration, the expedition not only showcased the breathtaking beauty of these remote regions but also highlighted the urgent needs of the communities living there.

In collaboration with EYOS Expeditions, Bushmans Tanks and Think Water Cairns played a key role in addressing one of the most critical challenges faced by these communities: water security. Thanks to the generous donation of three 11,500L water tanks by one of the ship’s residents, we fabricated and delivered the tanks within days, ensuring they were ready to support the initiative. Think Water Cairns assembled the necessary piping, fittings, and tools to turn the vision into reality.

These tanks are more than just water storage solutions—they represent life-changing infrastructure. By enabling rainwater harvesting and safe water storage, they provide access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and daily activities. For communities in low-lying islands disproportionately affected by climate change, this can mean the difference between survival and hardship.

This partnership exemplifies the power of collaboration and how small yet meaningful contributions can create lasting change. Bushmans Tanks is honoured to have been part of this initiative, alongside a long-tern partner such as Think Water Cains working alongside incredible organisations and individuals to improve the quality of life for those who need it most.

Together, we can continue to make a difference—one tank, one community, and one act of kindness at a time.

Thank you for joining us on this journey!
