Why are poly tanks so popular?
Poly tanks are one of the most widely used water tanks in circulation around the world. Poly tanks are so popular due to the ease of installation, the ease of picking different tank looks and maneuverability of the tank. Poly tanks are delivered in one piece and can be moved to wherever they need to be. This differs from steel tanks which are constructed at a site and can’t be moved. Poly tanks also are the most economical tank solutions.
How are poly tanks made?
Bushmans poly tanks are manufactured using Bushmans very own SUNSMART® polyethylene material that is designed to last longer in the harsh Australian climate. Poly tanks are rotationally moulded in build meaning they are manufactured in one piece, drastically reducing the chance of tank failure. Years of research and development have gone into Bushmans tanks to produce a product that is robust in design and build, but also look great.
What size poly tanks are available?

How do I order a poly tank?

How are poly tanks delivered?
Poly tanks are delivered in two different manners.
ONSITE DELIVERY – onsite delivery occurs when the tank site has been prepared correctly following the guidelines set out by Bushmans. If the conditions are safely met, the driver can install your tank on the site. Bushmans has provided tutorial videos on how to prepare your tank base, how to prepare for your tanks delivery, and final steps before the installation of your new Bushmans tank.
ROLL-OFF DELIVERY – roll-off delivery occurs when the site and base has not been prepared. The tank is dropped off the truck to be installed at a future date. It must be possible to roll the tank off the truck without damage. Care should be taken when moving the tank into position, avoiding sharp and rough surfaces. The area must be clear and free of obstacles.

How much is a Bushmans slimline water tank?
Bushmans range of slimline water tanks are available in a variety of sizes, the price will depend on your choice of size and what accessories you choose for your slimline tank. What capacities of slimline tanks are available?
Bushmans’ range of slimline water tanks range in size from 660 litres up to 5000 litres. The various capacities will meet your individual domestic water storage needs. Whether you need a big or small tank – the slimline water tank is perfect. If space is an issue, Bushmans’ slimline rainwater tanks are ideal, as they fit even when space is limited. Bushmans offer an array of colour in the slimline tank range, to suit your preference and/or your living environment.
What is the guarantee for above-ground slimline water tanks?
Bushmans’ above-ground slimline water tanks are made of polyethylene. This material is sturdy and combined with Bushmans own UV protection, SunTough®, your Bushmans slimline rainwater tank will last for many years. To guarantee the quality, and for your peace of mind, Bushmans offer a 10-year guarantee on the complete range of above-ground rainwater tanks.
How will my slimline tank be delivered on the day?
Your Bushmans slimline water tank is delivered by one of Bushmans’ drivers, on a truck from Bushmans’ own delivery fleet. There is some preparation work that needs to be done by you prior to the delivery of the tank. Examples of preparation work that need to be done can be seen below. However, it is of utmost importance that the information about the preparation is read in detail so that you fully know what needs to be done prior to delivery. This cannot be stressed enough. Follow the step-by-step guide found here – it is easy.
- You need to ensure that there is sufficient space for an oversize semi-trailer to be able to turn around.
- Bushmans needs to be advised of any barriers to delivery. There are a number of things that can hinder delivery including overhanging/low to the ground power lines and cables, narrow openings and gates, inaccessible roads, roundabouts, trees with overhanging branches, river and other crossings and more.
- Please note – to be able to deliver, there needs to be a minimum of 50m turning space. The max dimension of the truck is:21m(L) x 2.5m(W) x 5.2m(H)
There are two different options for delivery:
i) Delivery on site
This option refers to when Bushmans driver will assist in siting the tank. Providing prerequisite conditions are adhered to and strictly followed.
ii) Roll-off deliver
This option refers to when the site is not prepared. The tank therefore needs to be installed at a later date. Please note, Bushmans will endeavour delivery again at a later time. This delivery expense must be paid by the customer.

Will Bushmans assist with the installation of my slimline tank?
When the steps as outlined here are followed and assistance, organised by you, are on hand, Bushmans’ driver will install your slimline tank. The preparation before delivery is crucial for installation. Bushmans driver will assist in the delivery of the tank. However, you must organise assistance of able bodies to be ready to help at the time of the delivery of the tank. Failure to do so, according to the instructions found here, will result in that the tank will not be installed at the time of delivery.
In the instance that the driver cannot deliver the tank, they will endeavour to do so at a later date. However, note – this will be at the customer’s own expense.

Do you manufacture and install steel water tanks?
Yes, Bushmans is proud to have the capability to produce both poly and steel tanks. Bushmans range of Aqualine tanks are made from galvanised steel sheets and are constructed on-site. What is the difference between steel and poly tanks?
There are a number of key differences between polyethylene and steel water tanks:
- Steel tanks can be made in much larger sizes than poly tanks for when there is a need for bulk liquid storage.
- Bushmans Aqualine steel tanks are constructed on-site by installers using a kit supplied by Bushmans whereas poly tanks are delivered ready-to-use on site.
- Poly tanks are made in 1 rotationally-moulded piece whereas steel tanks have an inner poly liner with a steel exterior.
What kind of base preparation is needed for steel water tanks?
There are a number of different base preparation methods that you could use for your new Aqualine steel tank. These include:
- Crusher dust base – crusher dust is the most cost-effective base prep method. It must be laid out evenly, compacted, made level and flat to ensure a sound structure of the tank. Care must be taken with this base prep method.
- Concrete base – concrete is a very suitable base for Aqualine steel tanks. It must be large enough to support all areas of the tank. Concrete base must be flat, smooth and evenly leveled. Appropriate curing time of slab is to be observed before tank is installed.
- Stand base – stands can be used to site Aqualine steel tanks. It is important for the stand to be constructed to support the tank’s weight as well as the liquid that will be stored in the tank.
- Concrete paver base – care must be taken with this base preparation method to ensure level does not degrade over time. Ensure the surface that concrete pavers are laid down on will not degrade.
Note – base preparation method will depend on tank size, your requirements, level of access. The Bushmans team will be able to run you through the most ideal base preparation method to suit your specific site.

How strong are Bushmans poly tanks?
Bushmans industrial tanks can be manufactured with varying degrees of wall strength. Industrial and chemical tanks are manufactured with a thicker wall. A specific gravity rating is calculated from Hoop Design Stress tests. Industrial and chemical tanks are also manufactured in consideration with the stringent Australian Standards (AS/NZ4766:2006).
What chemicals can be stored in Bushmans tanks?
